President's report on the proceedings of the 2002 National Breeding Show in Nuremberg

Dear Exhibitors:

In the social media you can find both positive and partly controversial and unnecessarily unsettling comments and statements about the proceedings at the National Breeding Show.

In view of the discussions, it is urgently necessary to clarify that the specifications of the veterinary office are due to legal procedures in Nuremberg.

Thus, this is clearly a legally binding rule established by the state.

The recurring questions are summarized as follows:

The requirements have changed only slightly compared to the previous year. The current changes are based on last year's experience of the Veterinary Office with individual exhibitors during the event.
In conclusion and in summary, the following relevant regulations exist:

Box size:

Concerning the box size, there are no changes compared to the previous year.  Please refer to the following description.

Going out times:

There were no changes in the going out times compared with the previous year. The control in this regard has been delegated to the Verein für Deutsche Schäferhunde (SV) e.V.. The organizer, the Verein für Deutsche Schäferhunde (SV) e.V., has to control the times and to document them completely.

We ask you already now to support us fully in this difficult task.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the officials and decision-makers of the authorities for taking our specific concerns into account within the scope of the law. This has led to a clear easing of the situation.

Thanking you for your understanding and cooperation we remain,

Prof. Dr. Heinrich Meßler

President of the SV
