The SV-Bundessiegerzuchtschau/ Weltchampionat is a top event for all friends of the German Shepherd Dog breed. Participants from approximately fifty nations come together – here you find true competition atmosphere. But most important – the German Shepherd Dog breed is offered a stage.

These dogs are a true friend to mankind and also an important pillar in many aspects of society, for instance as protection-, rescue-, and search dogs, or guard dogs to blind persons. German Shepherd Dogs are characterized by their intelligence, learning ability, attention and stamina.

Once again, a total of about 2000 dogs will prove their properties in an outstanding fashion on the occasion of this year’s SV- Bundessiegerzuchtschau/Weltchampionat

The Verein für Deutsche Schäferhunde (SV) e.V. deserves our thanks and appreciation for the organization of the show. The association also deserves recognition for the appropriate breeding and training of the German Shepherd Dogs – with the highest focus on the health and wellbeing of the animals. The association and their members also stand for a comprehensive expertise of their breed. Effective youth work is used as the key to pass on knowledge and skills to the next generation.

All of this requires great commitment and exceptional dedication, the main characteristic of the association for the past 125 years!

My congratulations to this special jubilee – the best of success for the future to come, and a great event at the SV-Bundessiegerzuchtschau/Weltchampionat!

Dear Friends of the German Shepherd Dog Breed,
Dear Guests,

Exciting times are ahead of all dog friends – and not only from Nuremberg – since the SV-Bundessiegerzuchtschau / Weltchampionat für Deutsche Schäferhunde will be held from September 05^th to September 08^th, 2024 in the Max-Morlock-Stadium. The interest in this central and biggest event for dog breeding that is being held once a year in the home country of the German Shepherd Dog, keeps growing year after year. By now, approximately 2000 dogs from all over the world are registered at the SV-Bundessiegerzuchtschau.

I am very happy about this lively and internation interest in the event that promises exciting days! I enjoy visiting the event time and again and convince myself of the fascinating and great performances of the participants from about 50 nations with their dogs. Again, the breeding goals of the SV are presented in an impressive fashion – vitality, radiance, beauty, and stamina captivate and inspire spectators from all over the world.

Health it the most important aspect of responsible dog breeding! Quality over quantity – that is also the principle of the SV. And the concept works out. More than 200 breeders of German Shepherd Dogs in Bavaria comply with the highest standards and thus guarantee that the German Shepherd Dog remains a faithful friend and companion for many generations after us and in the years to come. 

I wish all the best for the Bundessiegerzuchtschau, good luck to the participants with their dogs, and for the guests lots of fun and many nice memories to carry home!

Dear Members and Friends of the Verein für Deutsche Schäferhunde,

Welcome to the Bundessiegerzuchtschau / Weltchampionat – BSZ Conformation Show 2024 in Nuremberg! It is a great pleasure to welcome you all here and celebrate the excellence and beauty of the Germany Shepherd Dog breed.

Also in this year, we are all gathering here to honor the best of the very best who excel through their outstanding character, their intelligence, and their physical presence. Your reputation and your pride of your association and noble breed are based on your breeding tradition. The Bundesssiegerzuchtschau is the ideal venue to present the results of your efforts and dedication. Dogs training based on animal welfare legislation has long since become standard. This includes that no illegal equipment is used, and no physical pressure is imposed on the dogs.  

Experienced dog trainers like you train their dogs in compliance with the principle of positive reinforcement. The result speaks for itself because in doing so your dogs are well balanced, self-confident, and obedient animals who react in a sovereign fashion even in extraordinary situations.

I would like to express my thanks to all breeders, exhibitors and last but not least their dogs for coming here. Your passion and commitment for your association are admirable and inspiring. Please enjoy the days of the competition and community here in our beautiful town.

Dear Exhibitors and Guests to the SV-Bundessiegerzuchtschau/Weltchampionat für Deutsche Schäferhunde 2024

The patronage for the Verein für Deutsche Schäferhunde (SV) e.V. is both to me – an honour and great joy. I would like to give thanks to the Verein für Deutsche Schäferhunde (SV) e.V. which for the past 125 years has been dedicated with great commitment to the preservation, promotion, and further development of this breed

In Germany about 1000 certified breeders are registered which implement the high standards and requirements of the organization, and thus do significantly contribute to the continuance of the breed and the improvement of the health characteristics of the German Shepherd Dog. Dog breeding is both, a responsible and rewarding mission which requires vision and responsibility. Dog breeders think in generations and their work is a valuable contribution.

It is of utmost importance that breeders, clubs and aficionados of dogs present themselves to the public. The work with dogs is so much more than a mere hobby – it is a calling. The dog is a family member which is to be appreciated – regardless of awards and examination results.

Regrettably, bureaucratic hurdles make it increasingly more difficult to host events like this one. This must change again. Governments and authorities must support the work of the breeders and dog owners.

With this in mind, I wish Madame President Roswitha Dannenberg, and the entire Board of Directors continued success for the future to come.

I wish the breeders and exhibitors at the SV-Bundessiegerzuchtschau/ World Championship for German Shepherd Dogs 2024 the due appreciation that they deserve for their efforts, and for all visitors I wish eventful days in Nuremberg. Please enjoy the impressive presentation of the German Shepherd Dog breed.

Dear Exhibitors, dear Guests, and dear Friends of the German Shepherd Dog Breed,

WE do celebrate our 125^th birthday. As the SV-and WUSV-President, I would like to welcome you with all my heart to the Bundessiegerzuchtschau/Weltchampionat 2024 and invite you to celebrate the German Shepherd Dog Breed. Accompanying to the competition we also offer a family day in celebration of our jubilee and would like to use this opportunity to also attract the attention of the people from the region of Nuremberg and the surroundings.

The most important breeding event of the Verein für Deutsche Schäferhunde (SV) e.V. meets worldwide interest and is visited by hundreds of fans of the German Shepherd Dog Breed from Germany and abroad. The great result of 1.489 registered dogs fills me with gratitude and joy of anticipation, and I look very much forward to the days ahead of us. These days shall be coined by harmony, fairness and sportsmanship.

As always, the officiating breed judges shoulder a huge responsibility since the rankings they grant will considerably contribute to the steering of breeding for the years to come. Their expertise, orientation toward the breed standard and the requirements of our organization lay the foundation for their decisions. The nomination for a Siegerschau/Weltchampionat is based on trust and may be truly considered one of the highest accolades that can be awarded to a breed judge. For the task ahead of you, dear breed judges, I wish you the resilience of the German Shepherd Dog breed and of course lots of joy during the ranking of the dogs presented to you.

So let us get started with the event during which the best breed in the world, our German Shepherd Dog, shall play the leading role.

My warmest thanks go to each of you who contributed to the success of the BSZ/Weltchampionat 2024 and/ or who will still do so during the course of this weekend. My special thanks go to the guests of honor from politics. With their presence they support us with the positive presentation of the German Shepherd Dog and our hobby in public.

Sehr geehrte Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer der SV-Bundessiegerzuchtschau,
liebe Freunde des Deutschen Schäferhundes,

ich freue mich, Sie auch im Jahr 2025 wieder in Nürnberg begrüßen zu dürfen und heiße Sie herzlich im Max-Morlock-Stadion willkommen.

Ihr Engagement für den Deutschen Schäferhund ist bewundernswert. Sie investieren viel Zeit, Energie und Ressourcen in die Zucht, Ausbildung und Pflege Ihrer Hunde. Dabei steht das Wohl der Tiere stets im Mittelpunkt. Der Gesetzgeber hat in den letzten Jahren den Tierschutz weiter gestärkt, und ich begrüße es sehr, dass eine tierschutzgerechte Hundeausbildung ohne Bestrafungen und psychischen Druck auskommt. Sie, als erfahrene Hundesportler und Züchter setzen auf positive Verstärkung, und die beeindruckenden Ergebnisse dieser Methode sind in diesen Tagen hier im Max-Morlock-Stadion zu sehen. Ausgeglichene, selbstbewusste und leistungsfähige Hunde, die in jeder Situation souverän reagieren und ihren zweibeinigen Partnerinnen und Partner vertrauen.

Auch in diesem Jahr kommen zahlreiche Hunde und ihre Halter aus der ganzen Welt zu uns nach Nürnberg, was die internationale Bedeutung dieser Veranstaltung erneut unterstreicht. Ihr Einsatz und Ihre Leidenschaft für den Deutschen Schäferhund sind bemerkenswert, und ich danke Ihnen dafür, dass Sie die oft langen und beschwerlichen Reisen auf sich nehmen, um an diesem Wettbewerb teilzunehmen.

Im Max-Morlock-Stadion finden Sie erneut optimale Bedingungen für diese hervorragend organisierte Veranstaltung. In diesem Jahr wurden einige organisatorische Anpassungen vorgenommen, insbesondere im Bereich der Unterbringung der Hunde, um den hohen Standards des Tierschutzes weiterhin gerecht zu werden. Ich bitte Sie alle, diese Regeln zu respektieren, damit wir auch in Zukunft diese traditionsreiche Veranstaltung in gewohnter Qualität durchführen können.

Ich wünsche allen Teilnehmern viel Erfolg und Freude mit ihren Hunden und allen Besucherinnen und Besuchern spannende und unvergessliche Tage in Nürnberg.
