The German Shepherd Association ‚Verein für Deutsche Schäferhunde (SV) e.V.‘
Founded on 22 April 1899 in Karlsruhe, Germany, the Association has now been engaging itself in the goals and tasks stated in the statutes for more than 100 years.
A statutory task of the Association and its members is the breeding and training of German Shepherds. The goal is a high performance working dog with a stable, well-balanced character and good nerves, self-confident, absolutely uninhibited and (outside of stress situations) good-natured, attentive and responsive.
Within this framework, the Association and its regional subdivisions (federal and local groups) regularly organize events in the form of performance tests and breeding license shows.
In our near 2,000 local groups, which are organized into 19 federal groups, you will receive support, help and solutions concerning questions of breeding and training.
The German Shepherd Association SV is a supporting member of the German Animal Protection League ‘Deutscher Tierschutzbund’ and of the Association against animal abuse ‘Bund gegen den Missbrauch der Tiere’.
Legal seat of the Association is Augsburg.
